DignityPT
for hospice
Hospice care provides a much-needed service to its clients, including palliative and supportive care for those with conditions that require end-of-life measures and planning. Pain management efforts, caregiver training and provision of equipment are all fairly universal needs that are covered to some degree by insurance.
Insurance companies, however, have failed its beneficiaries by neglecting to provide therapies that will allow patients to maintain their functional independence through their final days. Why should a loved one be expected to spend his or her twilight confined to a bed, where they become weaker and weaker, and more and more reliant on caregivers to provide for basic needs?
PreceptWellness believes that every person, regardless of their prognosis, deserves to live their lives with as much independence as possible. That is why we established DignityPT to provide in-home physical therapy services for hospice patients, without the restrictions inherent with insurance companies. We feel that patients have the right to treatment that will keep them as strong, mobile and happy as possible, regardless of how much time they may have left with us.
Though we do not require a physician’s prescription, we would like to work with your doctor to ensure a safe plan with regards to medication and pain management regimen, as well as to acknowledge any other concerns or barriers your care team may bring to light. While we may initially need to focus on improving strength and mobility, we want to know what’s important to you! Your goals are our goals.
